Surprisingly, the oral presentation went more smoothly than expected. In the end, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to present my research and share all of the work that I have put into this semester with the audience. It was a nice culmination of the semester. I definitely felt a sense of pride in what I had accomplished and am glad that I was able to research sex discrimination in medical schools. Although I had already heard my classmates’ presentations, I really enjoyed listening to them present at the symposium. I learned a lot from their research.
Overall, I truly enjoyed this semester of the Ramonat Seminar. Conducting my own historical research was an incredible opportunity and something that I discovered that I enjoy doing. The guidance from Dr. Shermer and Ruby was extremely beneficial and my writing has improved significantly due to the lengthy editing process in this class. Without their support, I could not have produced a quality 30-page paper. Hopefully I can utilize the research skills developed in the future. I am very glad that I had the chance to participate in the Ramonat Seminar for 2018-2019.
